Choose a standard single-sided fireplace instead and one room gets the fire while the other gets drywall.

What Makes It Special

The 4070 is a see-through fireplace: glass on both faces, so the same flame is fully visible from both rooms at once. Built into a wall or column, it divides two living spaces with light and warmth instead of drywall—each side gets the fire, not the back of it.

Ortal’s passive cool wall technology keeps the surface above the unit cool enough to hang a TV or artwork directly over the fireplace, and the frameless European design lets your tile or stone run right to the edge of the glass, so the fire looks built into the wall rather than bolted onto it.

The handset does more than on and off. Set it to 70 and the fireplace holds the room at the temperature you set, cycling the flame on its own—or use the countdown timer, the programmable schedule, or run the whole thing from your phone.

Possible Downsides
